#deadwitness Obituary: Adam Weeks 1982–2020 Changing Outcomes

Candidate for Office

Obituary: Adam Weeks 1982–2020

Adam Weeks

Adam Weeks

Adam Charles Weeks, 38, of Red Wing, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020.

Adam was born June 30, 1982 to George and Mary Weeks, in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Adam’s father, George, passed away when Adam was 4 years old. Soon after, Mary and Adam relocated to Northfield, Minnesota.

Adam attended Northfield schools and graduated with the class of 2000. During his school days, Adam’s passion was “everything Ken Griffey Jr.” and the Seattle Mariners baseball team. He has collected hats, jackets, shoes, along with his prize collection of baseball cards. Adam had a smile for everyone he encountered – young or old! He had a passionate soul – he loved people, conversation, skiing, baseball, and politics.

His political energies were quite evident, as he is currently listed as a candidate on the 2020 Minnesota State Election Ballot, running for U.S. House representative for Minnesota 2nd District, under the Legal Marijuana Now Party.

Adam’s work history included an assortment of jobs, but he was happiest these past years with two quite different seasonal jobs. Most recently, during the winter months, he was manager of Mad Jax Bar & Grill at Welch Village in Welch, Minnesota. The spring, summer and fall months involved his love and talents of organic gardening. Adam was proud owner of Mississippi Hills Produce, Goodhue, Minnesota. He and his mom, Mary, grew the best organic produce in southern Minnesota. Even though it was a lot of hard physical work, this chemical free farm style was their pride and joy and offered up tremendous results. Their produce sold to CSA clientele, local restaurants and markets, and every Saturday, June through October, you would find them at the River Walk Market in Northfield. Adam was an active board member of the River Walk Market.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Weeks, grandparents, Norma and Chuck Weeks, Florence and Osmer Ryland, as well as uncles, Al Ryland, Ben Weeks, and aunt, Bev Bittmann. Adam is survived by his mom, Mary Weeks of Cannon Falls and Mike Hassig of Iowa Falls, Iowa. His aunts and uncles, Don and Peggy Ryland, Cannon Falls, Stan and Patty Ryland, Fargo, N.D., Linda Warmbold-Engle, his many special cousins and friends, and his “Farm Family” Paul and Emily Reese, Clyde, Oscar, Vivian, and Bridgette Reese. Adam would have wanted mention of his work family at Welch Village as well, as he so enjoyed these close friends.

An outdoor funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church, 7459 Hwy 19 Blvd., Cannon Falls. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service, from 12:30-2 p.m. Immediately following the service there will be a gathering for friends and family at East Side Park, 499 Minnesota St., Cannon Falls. Memorials in Adam’s memory can be directed to St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church, 7459 Hwy 19 Blvd., Cannon Falls, MN 55009. Arrangements with Lundberg Funeral Home, Cannon Falls. Online condolences may be directed to www.LundbergFuneral.com.

#deadwitness Deputy Mike Foley, 60

  *In The Line Of Duty*
Rest In Peace Deputy Sheriff Michael Foley
Alameda County Sheriff's Office, California
End Of Watch: 02-23-17
Deputy Mike Foley, 60, succumbed to head injuries sustained the day prior when hit by a bus(details within). Please, take a moment to read of how this Hero LIVED:

Born with a soul that has Courage to wear the Badge, Deputy Foley had been Saving, Serving, and Protecting the People as a Law Enforcement Officer for 38 years.

Officer Foley began his calling when hired by the Concord Police Department, California, in 1976 as a Police Cadet. In 1978, he was hired as a sworn officer and he proudly served his hometown community of Concord for more than 29 years.

from Concord PD: "During his honorable service with our department, Mike worked a variety of assignments to include Patrol, Traffic, SWAT, and as a School Resource Officer. Mike was a very humble man who had an incredible work ethic and the natural ability to bring calm to chaotic situations. Many of our officers thought of Mike as a mentor given the depth of his experiences and for the manner in which he carried himself.

Mike's easy-going personality and approachability made him an excellent fit as a School Resource Officer working with kids. His students were naturally drawn to him and he assisted countless students through difficult times in their young lives.
It is said that Mike was a "Cops Cop." He had a servant's heart and his dedication to his chosen profession exudes class, commitment and professionalism. Mike was very devoted to his family and he will be sorely missed by so many.
In 2007, Mike retired from our department as a Master Police Officer.
Thank you Mike for all the lives you touched." (395)
Following a commendable and decorated career, Brother Mike retired from the CPD in 2007 after serving for 29 years. But this True Blue wasn't done yet ...

In 2007, the Alameda County Sheriff's Office hired this amazing lawman.

from ACSO: "Michael was one of the hardest working Deputies on this agency. He used his experience and wisdom to mentor countless numbers of young officers throughout his career. He was an extremely kind man who loved his family, friends, co workers and community. He believed in public service and making the world a better place. All of us who were touched by his life will never forget him. He is a role model and a great example for others to follow. Our hearts are broken."

Courageous and Compassionate, Fearless and Fair, this Brave and Benevolent Brother of Blue simply wanted to make a difference in his small corner of the world. May we take a part of Brother Mike's legacy with us when we enter into our daily arenas while continuing to create our own, and do so with the same Honor, Fidelity, and Integrity as this True Blue served.

May we always remember Deputy Sheriff Michael Foley for how he Lived As Only A Hero Could.

On Wednesday, February 22, 2017, 0610hours(local), Deputy Foley reported for work early as he was in the habit of doing. While walking through the Santa Rita jail parking lot, a department bus, driven by a fellow Deputy who was delivering food for the inmates at the same time struck Deputy Foley. It was dark out, the lot was unlit, Deputy Foley was dressed in dark blue clothing, the roads were rain slicked, and though only driving less than 15mph, the bus struck Deputy Foley, who then struck his head on the pavement as he fell. A tragic accident.

Deputy Foley was conscious and alert on scene, speaking with the medics but lost consciousness while en route to the hospital. Deputy Foley remained in critical condition as he underwent numerous procedures to reduce the swelling on the brain. Doctors worked throughout the day and night to help save our Brother.

Sadly, and with very heavy hearts, this proved to be our Brother's final battle ...

On Thursday, February 23, 2017, Deputy Sheriff Michael Foley succumbed to his injuries, family of blood and blue by his side, and was pronounced by the doctors ... but not before one last act of Heroism:

"The Foley family wanted you all to know that although Mike's death is tragic his life is going to save others. Mike was a registered organ donor and we are happy to tell you, the gift of his organs to other people will save their lives. Mike lived a life of service and even in his passing he was thinking of others. Mike's foresight and generosity will ease the burden of other families. What an amazing gift. That is the type of person Michael Foley was. Please share this story of human kindness." - Alameda SO

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Foley family, the Men and Women of the Alameda SO, the Concord PD, to all first-responders who came running to assist, to the staff at the hospital, and to all whom have had the pleasure and the privilege of knowing and working along side this True Blue Hero. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with fellow Deputy and his family. Please hold him extra close.

Our Brother, as you now patrol the streets of Heaven may you continue your vigilant watch over us all as we carry on In Our Brother's Honor. We thank you for your service and for your sacrifices. We thank you for your life. Job Well Done Sir.

Rest In Peace Deputy Sheriff Michael Foley ... We Have The Watch From Here. SALUTE!

It may be the biggest outstanding mystery in the Enron story: the death of Cliff Baxter, a former top Enron executive. He'd just agreed to testify to Congress in the Enron case. A congressional source tells CBS News that Baxter wasn't a target in the probe, he was to provide evidence against others.

But on the morning of January 25th he was found in his car - shot dead.

Police were criticized for calling it a suicide before investigating, so they kept the case open. The fact that it's still open more than two months later has made the Cliff Baxter case prime fodder for murder conspiracy theories, reports CBS News Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson.

Adding to the mystery is a letter - perhaps a suicide note - that Baxter's wife is fighting to keep private. Groups like the Texas Freedom of Information Foundation want at least part of it made public.

"I believe very strongly that Enron is mentioned in it," said Joel White, the group's attorney.

More questions are raised in police, autopsy and lab reports obtained by CBS News.

Police won't talk while the case is open, so CBS News asked two experts - independent coroner Cyril Wecht and former homicide detective Bill Wagner - to review the reports. While suicide appears likely, both experts say the documents make it impossible to discount foul play.

Asked why he couldn't rule out murder, Wagner said, "because murder can be made to look like a suicide. ... Someone who is knowledgeable about forensics can very well have the ability to stage a murder, commit a murder and stage it to look as if it was a suicide, understanding what the police are going to be looking for."

The experts found several things highly unusual. First the peculiar ammunition: not regular bullets but something called "rat-shot".

"This kind of ammunition cannot be easily or readily traced back to the gun from which it was fired," explained Wecht.

"It's not as frequently used by people for any reason. It's not the type of ammunition one finds in guns - it has a specific purpose: shooting at snakes and rodents in order to get a distribution pattern of the small pellets contained within the nose portion of the bullet. It's not something that a person is likely to have and to use if they intended to kill themselves," said Wecht.

Other unanswered questions include mysterious wounds on one hand and unexplained shards of glass in Baxter's shirt. All reasons to look deeper to rule out murder.

But Wagner says glaring police errors may make it harder to close the books on the Baxter case.

First, nobody wrapped the hands to preserve evidence.

"When the body did finally arrive for the autopsy, the hands hadn't even been bagged," said Wagner.

"I'm just amazed frankly that the hands were not bagged," Wecht said.

"From what I've seen looking at the vehicle, it doesn't appear they even fingerprinted it," continued Wagner.

"The police narrative is vague for this type of investigation. It's important to get a timeline of the events that took place through the course of investigation - that appears to be lacking in the original report from the crime scene. Without that, without being able to piece together what was done when, it's very difficult to understand the events that took place and how they unfolded from that report," said Wagner.

The gun and other evidence were moved before photos were taken. The body was moved as well. There's a puzzling mention of blood outside the car from someone laying Baxter on the ground.

Wagner says that only should have happened if rescuers pulled him out to revive him. But even that scenario doesn't add up - the body is back in the car when the funeral home arrives "and that's something that is not explained in the police reports," said Wagner.

"I think there were some very important things omitted from the original investigation report that should have been included in it. I would like to have known what were the first couple things the Fire Department did to treat the victim allegedly as he was sitting in the car and from that point how did they change the initial crime scene. What was moved? Did they remove the body from the vehicle? It's actually unclear how they treated the actual scene," Wagner said.

Incredibly, even though an autopsy is required by law, none was ordered. By the time that decision was reversed, Baxter's body was being processed at a funeral home.

The coroner says police still won't tell her exactly who handled and who saw the body before it finally reached her and won't even give her routine information.

The official finding on Baxter's death may well end up being suicide, but for now his death certificate remains unsigned. And at least one provocative question is left permanently unanswered: what, exactly, Cliff Baxter would have told investigators about the biggest corporate scandal in history.

#deadwitness ~ Kadeem Hodge - In the same holding cell with Pete Bennett arrested by CBRE, Regency Centers

Man Arrested Saturday for Theft at Concord’s Sunvalley Mall Killed in Shooting on Sunday in Antioch

DECEMBER 4, 2017 15:21 PM · 38 COMMENTS
A murder victim has been identified by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office today as 19-year-old Antioch resident Kadeem Hodge, who was shot and killed early Sunday morning in his hometown, police said.
An Antioch resident with the same name was arrested a day earlier for allegedly shoplifting at the Sunvalley Shopping Center in Concord, but Concord police did not immediately confirm whether it is the same person, however, friends of the victim have confirmed he is the same man.
Antioch police found Hodge on Empire Mine Road at 2:27 a.m. Sunday with what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead where police found him.
Concord police on Saturday were patrolling the Sunvalley Shopping Center when shoppers alerted them to an alleged shoplifting case.
Witnesses provided a description of the suspect vehicle, which police found quickly as the vehicle entered the highway.
Officers pulled the vehicle over and found stolen merchandise from several stores.
Police said besides Hodge, they also arrested Tiana Mayberry of Antioch.
Hodge and Mayberry were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, conspiracy and possessing burglary tools.

No “do overs”…Such a waste…Apparently stealing was easier than working..If his parents could afford a good education they probably could afford his Bail…Sometimes its better to let the kid experience some Jail and hopefully it will scare them straight…

This “kid” didn’t just mess up. Given the fact that he was arrested just hours before “should” show you that this was more of a pattern. The criminal/thug life can be dangerous. All of our life decisions have consequences. He made his choice on what direction he wanted to go.

Wow, it’s really surprising what the anonymity of the Internet has done to our community. I will pray for each and everyone of you who have fallen off of the path, to be led into such hateful and judgemental thoughts.
Toxic emotions spread like wildfire, I implore you to get a handle on it before it’s too late. Bless you all.

Young life tragically cut short? Great time to dust off some prejudices and stereotypes and drag the poor boy through the mud.
